Carlson, Jensen, Peterson Named to All-WIAC Team

Falcon soccer players Sarah Carlson (Jr., Plymouth, Minn. Armstrong HS), Amy Jensen (So., Plymouth, Minn. Bloomington Kennedy HS) and Ashley Peterson (So., Lino Lakes, Minn. Forest Lake HS) have all been named to the 2004 All-WIAC team.

Carlson and Jensen are forwards and Peterson played both forward and defender. Carlson and Peterson were both named to the first team in 2003.

Carlson led the Falcons in scoring for the second straight year. She finished the 2004 season with 37 points, including 12 goals. She scored four game-winning goals. She led the Falcons with 34 shots on goal. She started and played in all 18 games. In her two-year career at UWRF Carlson has scored 28 goals and 75 points.

Jensen was third on the team in scoring with 18 points. She scored seven goals, including two game-winners. She had 20 shots on goal in 2004, third on the team. She started and played in 16 games. Jensen has scored 13 career goals and 38 career points.

Petersen led the Falcons in goals with 13 and finished with 34 points, second on the team. She had four game-winning goals and 30 shots on goal. The 30 shots was second on the team and she tied for the team lead in game-winning goals. She started and played in all 18 games. Peterson has scored 20 career goals and 54 career points.

The Falcons finished 12-5-1 overall and 4-3-0 in the WIAC. UWRF finished in fourth place and won a first round WIAC playoff game, 4-2, over UW-La Crosse. The Falcons lost to UW-Stevens Point, 1-0, in the conference playoff semifinals. The 12 season wins is third most in school history.
