Forward Garrett Larson (Sr., Park River, N.D.), played a key role for the Falcons in the team's NCHA first round playoff win over UW-Stout last weekend at Hunt Arena. In Friday's 4-0 win, Larson scored the team's second goal of the game at 11:38 of the first period. It was an unassisted goal. In Saturday's 6-4 loss, he assisted on two of the team's four goals. In the 20 minute minigame immediately following the loss, Larson scored both of the team's goals in a 2-1 win. He scored a power-play goal at 6:24 and added an empty-net goal at 19:24. He leads the Falcons in scoring with 20 goals and 42 total points.

Tony Sikich (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.) who made the move from forward to defense in the off season, showed that he can still make a difference offensively, scoring two goals and dishing out two assists in the Falcons 5-2 victories over Eau Claire and Stevens Point last weekend. He scored two goals, including the game winner, against Eau Claire and he assisted on the first two Falcon goals against Stevens Point. Sikich also played spectacularly on the defensive end limiting the two opponents to only 44 shots combined. "He played very well defensively and was able to create offense from his defensive position," said Falcon Coach Steve Freeman. He is fourth on the team in scoring with nine goals and 22 points.

Goalie Andy Scanlon (Jr., Apple Valley, Minn.), a pre-season All-American selection, was outstanding in goal for the Falcons in their 2-0 win over UW-Superior, the No. 1 ranked team in the nation. He made 36 saves for the Falcons and got his first shutout of the season. He is 5-3-2 on the season, with a .922 save percentage and a 2.24 goals against average. Falcon Coach Steve Freeman said that Scanlon was the difference maker against Superior. "He played very aggressively," said Freeman.

Defenseman Tony Sikich (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.) helped the Falcons to a split in two road games last weekend. He scored the team's only goal in a 4-1 loss at UW-Superior on Friday. On Saturday he scored the team's fourth goal in a 4-2 win at St. Scholastica. He has scored seven goals and has 16 points for the Falcons. The 5-11, 185 pounder has scored three power-play goals and one game-winning goal. He continues to provide leadership for the team, according to Falcon Coach Steve Freeman.

Forward Jared Sailer (So., Fernie, B.C.) was the lone source of offense for the Falcons on Saturday night against St. Norbert. He scored both of the team's goals in a 3-2 loss to St. Norbert. His second goal came with the Falcons on the power play. The forward has five goals and two assists this year for the Falcons and is turning into one of the most explosive players on the team. "He has picked up his game in the second half of the year," said Falcon Coach Steve Freeman. "He is playing more intense and is going to the net harder."

Forward Steve Moe (Sr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) helped the Falcons to two weekend wins at Marian College. The Falcons won, 6-2 and 8-2 to improve their overall record to 10-3-2. In Saturday's 8-2 win he scored twice and had one assist. He scored UWRF's second and third goals of the game, including the game winner.

Forward Garrett Larson (Sr., Park River, N.D.), who transferred from St. Cloud State in the beginning of the year, has immediately made an impact on the team and become a leader. On the season Larson has 14 goals and eight assists to lead the team with 22 points. Larson showed his ability to take over a game last weekend against Stout with five goals in two games. In the finale on Saturday night, a 4-1 Falcon win, Larson posted the Falcons first hat trick of the year. "He's one of those guys who just finishes plays," said Falcon Coach Steve Freeman.

Forward Matt Jackson (Fr., Apple Valley, Minn.) has provided a spark for the Falcons in 2004-05. Over the weekend he scored two goals to help lead the Falcons to a 5-2 victory over Hamline on Saturday at Hunt Arena. He also assisted on the only goal in the Falcon 2-1 loss to Bethel. Jackson, 5-11, 179 pounds, has come in as a freshman and contributed significantly to the Falcons offense, with three assists coming into the weekend. "He had a breakthrough offensively on Saturday; his hard work finally paid off," said Falcon Coach Steve Freeman.

Goalie Dan Meneghin (Jr., Surrey, B.C.) helped lead the Falcons to a 2-1 victory at St. Mary’s on Saturday night. Meneghin made 40 saves for the Falcons and helped end the weekend road trip on positive note. He is 3-0-0 on the season, with a 1.00 goals against average and a .975 save percentage. "He bailed us out in the third period when we were struggling," said Falcon Coach Steve Freeman. "That’s the sign of a good goalie." The Falcons were out shot in the third period, 16-7, and Meneghin made 15 saves.

Forward Garrett Larson (Sr., Park River, N. D.) has helped the Falcons in many ways since he transferred from St. Cloud State, but at no time has he helped more than this weekend at Augsburg. The senior scored two goals in the final eight minutes of regulation to help the Falcons secure a tie, 3-3, and stay unbeaten this year. Larson also played a physical game against Concordia-Moorhead in the team's 6-2 win. "He went out this weekend, played hard, and took advantage of his opportunities," said Falcon Coach Steve Freeman.

Forward Josh Schlipp (Sr., Chisago Lakes, Minn.) helped lead the Falcons to two wins to open the 2004-05 season. Schlipp came through with a huge weekend for the Falcons, scoring two goals and two assists. The 5-11, 175 pounder scored two goals in a 6-1 win over Eau Claire and had two assists in a 7-0 win over MSOE. "He played well on both ends of the ice and made the most of his opportunities," said Falcon Coach Steve Freeman.
