Offense
Halfback John Peterlik (Sr., Cadott, Wis.) had his sixth 100 yard plus rushing game of the season in the team's 24-22 win over UW-Stevens Point Saturday at Ramer Field. The 5-7, 195 pounder carried the ball 24 times and gained 168 yards. He averaged seven yards a carry and scored touchdowns on runs of 30 and two-yards in the second quarter. He also completed 1-1 passes for 26 yards. The pass completion came late in the game with the Falcons clinging to the two-point lead. The completion, on a third-and-seven play from the UWRF 45, gave the Falcons a first down at the UWSP 29 and helped the Falcons run more time off the clock. Peterlik also completed a two-point conversion pass after the team's first touchdown in the first quarter. Peterlik finished the year with 1,143 rushing yards - it is the third time in his four-year career that he broke the 1,000 yard mark in a season.


Defense
Safety Kyle Hoegh (Sr., Byron, Minn.) came up with several big plays in the team's 24-22 win over UW-Stevens Point Saturday at Ramer Field. None was bigger than when he intercepted a pass and returned it 21 yards. With UWRF leading, 18-10 late in the third quarter, UWSP had driven to the UWRF 33. On a second-and-seven play, the 6-0, 205 pounder picked off a UWSP pass at the UWRF 10 to kill the drive and keep the Falcons in the lead. The Falcons took over at the UWRF 31 and marched 69 yards in four plays to score what proved to be the winning points late in the third quarter. Hoegh had two assisted tackles and broke up another Pointer pass.


Special Teams

: Josh Barney (Jr., Clear Lake, Wis.) made a big play on special teams in UWRF's 24-22 win over UW-Stevens Point Saturday at Ramer Field. The 5-11, 205 pounder blocked a UWSP punt, recovered the ball, and returned it five yards to the UWSP 30 to give the Falcon offense excellent field position. The Falcons capitalized on the play by kicking a 26-yard field goal to give the Falcons an 11-7 lead late in the first half.

Nov. 8, 2004

Offense
Quarterback Tim Bittner (Fr., Coleman, Wis.) played for the first time at UW-La Crosse Saturday. He entered the game in the second quarter and played the rest of the game. The 6-2, 200 pounder gained 23 yards in two carries on the ground and was 1-3 passing for 29 yards.


Defense
Corner back Matt Jordan (So., Thorp, Wis.) had a strong game in the team's 38-14 loss at UW-La Crosse on Saturday. The 5-7, 165 pounder finished third for the Falcons in tackles with three solo and six total stops. He had one tackle for loss and broke up one pass.


Special Teams

Return man John Peterlik (Sr., Cadott, Wis.) was the team's leader on special teams in the Falcons 38-14 loss at UW-La Crosse on Saturday. The 5-7, 195 pounder returned three punts for 69 yards, including a long of 41 yards. That return in the fourth quarter set up the Falcons second touchdown of the game. He also returned three kick offs for 47 yards with a long of 19.

Offense
Halfback John Peterlik (Sr., Caddot, Wis.) had another strong game for the Falcons in the team's 28-25 loss to UW-Oshkosh on Saturday. The 5-7, 195 pounder led all rushers with 175 yards on 18 carries. He averaged 9.7 yards per carry and scored two touchdowns. He scored on a 50-yard run in the third quarter and a one-yard run in the fourth quarter.


Defense
Linebacker Dan Buker (So., Waseca, Minn.) played one his best games as a Falcon in the team's 28-25 loss on Saturday to UW-Oshkosh. The 5-11, 230 pounder led the Falcons in tackles with 15 total. He had eight solo stops and seven assists. His eight solo tackles led the team. He had one tackle for loss.


Special Teams

Kicker Spasimir Bodurski (So., Cannon Falls, Minn. Randolph HS) had yet another strong game kicking the ball for the Falcons in the team's 28-25 loss to UW-Oshkosh on Saturday. The 5-11, 230 pounder kicked a 41-yard field goal and was perfect on both extra point kicks he attempted. "Spasimir also did an excellent job on his kick offs. He placed them well and gave the coverage team time to get down field and make tackles," Falcon Coach John O'Grady said.

Offense
Guard Jeremy Hotz (Sr., Mt. Vernon, Iowa) was a leader for the Falcons in the team's 28-10 come-from-behind 28-10 win over UW-Stout on Saturday. The 6-4, 295 pounder led the Falcon offense in scoring 28 straight points in the second half to secure the win. He graded out at 95 percent and had 10 "pancake" blocks in the Falcon system. "The offense rushed for 240 yards and scored four touchdowns, all in the second half. Most of our plays were run behind him," Falcon Coach John O'Grady said.


Defense
Linebacker Ben Gillett (Sr., Rosendale, Wis. Laconia HS) was the leader of the Falcon defense that limited UW-Stout to just 10 points in the team's 28-10 win on Saturday at Ramer Field. The 6-2, 210 pounder led both teams with 16 tackles. He had 10 solo stops. He finished with two tackles for loss (seven yards), including a quarterback sack, and he forced a fumble.


Special Teams

John Peterlik (Sr., Cadott, Wis.) helped the Falcon offense gain some good field positions with two kick off returns in the team's 28-10 win over Stout. The 5-7, 195 pounder had two returns for 67 yards. He returned the second half kick off 42 yards.

Offense
Halfback John Peterlik (Sr., Cadott, Wis.) was the team's top offensive performer on Saturday against Whitewater. The 5-7, 195 pounder carried the ball 18 times and gained 132 yards. He averaged 7.3 yards per carry and had a long run of 30 yards.


Defense
Linebacker Nate Gray (Sr., Fond du Lac, Wis., St. Mary's Springs HS) has been one of the team's top defensive players all season and had another strong game against Whitewater. The 6-0, 240 pounder finished with three solo and two assisted tackles.


Special Teams

Place kicker Spasimir Bodurski (So.. Cannon Falls, Minn., Randolph HS) put his leg to good use in the team's game against Whitewater. He gave the Falcons their only points kicking a 32-yard field goal in the second quarter. The 5-11, 230 pounder had one kick off that went through the end zone and another that was returned for zero yards.

Offense
Wide receiver Corey Strinmoen (Sr., Spring Grove, Minn.) helped lead the Falcons to a 22 point second half and a 25-21 win at UW-Platteville on Saturday. He finished the game with only two catches, but they were big receptions. The first covered 18-yards from quarterback Andy Kolstad. Strinmoen made a leaping catch in the back of the UWP end zone that drew the Falcons to within 21-18 with 8:24 to play in he game. The second came with just 4:19 to play and was from halfback John Peterlik. Strinmoen, 5-9, 155 pounds, worked himself free behind the UWP secondary and made the catch to complete a 44-yard pass play.

Defense
Linebacker Matt Farmer (Sr., Tomahawk, Wis.) was one of the team's defensive leaders in the Falcons 25-21 come-from-behind win at UW-Platteville on Saturday. UWRF trailed, 21-3, at the half, but held the powerful Platteville offense to no points and 94 yards in total offense in the second half. Farmer, 6-0, 180 pounds, had seven solo and nine total tackles. "Matt missed some tackles in the first half, but came back in the second half and made up for the misses. He played a great second half. Our entire defense came back and played very well in the second half," Falcon assistant Coach Kevin Bullis said.
Special Teams
Return man Brent Fjerstad (Fr., Woodville, Wis./Clear Lake) helped the Falcons to a 25-21 win at UW-Platteville on Saturday. He returned one kick off 34 yards in the second quarter. The return gave the Falcons the ball at the UWRF 45. The Falcons went on a 12-play, 49-yard drive that ended with a 23-yard field goal that cut into UWP's lead (14-3).

Offense
Fullback Nathan Anderson (Fr., Marinette, WI) had his best game as a Falcon in the team's 37-15 loss at Eau Claire on Saturday. He carried the ball 21 times and finished with 100 yards rushing. The 5-10, 210 pounder averaged 4.8 per carry and had a long run of 16 yards. He was not thrown for a loss in the contest.

Defense
Linebacker Matt Farmer (Sr., Tomahawk, WI) had a strong game in the team's 37-15 loss at Eau Claire on Saturday. Farmer, 6-0, 180 pounds, finished with seven solo and nine total tackles in the contest. He was also credited with a forced fumble.

Special Teams
Long snapper Brad Malpert (Sr., Ringle, WI/D.C. Everest HS) played an important role with the Falcon special teams in the team's 35-17 loss at UW-Eau Claire on Saturday. He recovered a UW-EC fumble on a punt return that helped set up the Falcons first touchdown. He recovered the ball at the UW-EC 27 and five plays later the Falcons scored to tie the game, 7-7. "Brad had a great day snapping and also recovered a fumble," Coach John O'Grady said.

Offense

Quarterback Andy Kolstad (So., Green Bay, Wis., East HS) had a solid outing in the team's 28-24 loss at Pacific Lutheran. He was 4-6 passing for 63 yards with a long of 21. He carried the ball nine times and rushed for 22 yards with a long run of 13. "This was Andy's best game of the year," said assistant Coach Tim Taylor.

Defense
Tackle Aaron Retzlaff (Jr.., Shawano, Wis.) was a key player in the middle of the Falcon defense in the team's 28-24 loss at Pacific Lutheran. He made three solo and two assisted tackles. He was credited with one and one-half tackles for loss. The Pacific Lutheran offense was stopped several times for short gains up the middle by Retzlaff and his teammates.

Special Teams
Punter Jovin Kroll (So., Poplar, WI/Northwestern HS) punted the ball five times and averaged 34.6 yards per kick. He had one punt downed inside the 20. He had a long punt of 43 yards.

Offense

Center Chris Ammann (Jr.. Holmen, WI) has played an important role in the Falcon offensive line in 2004. He has played tackle and tight end in past seasons and now starts at center. "Chris has been our most consistent lineman so far this year," Coach John O'Grady said.

Linebacker Dan Buker (So., Waseca, MN) played another strong game for the Falcon defense on Saturday. He had one solo tackle and two assists. He also recovered a BSU fumble in the fourth quarter.

Special Teams
Matt Jordan (So., Thorp, WI) came up with some big plays for the Falcons on punt coverage against Bemidji State. He had two tackles and forced a fumble that the Falcons recovered. "Matt did a great job in punt coverage and was involved in getting a turnover for us," Coach John O'Grady said

Offense

Halfback John Peterlik (Sr., Cadott, Wis.) had a strong first game for the Falcons in the team's 47-25 loss at Con.-St. Paul. Peterlik was the leading rusher in the game finishing with 15 yards on 26 carries. He scored once on a 10-yard run. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry. He also caught four passes for 41 yards.

Special Teams
Bruce Baillargeon (Fr., Somerset, Wis.) played in a key role for the Falcons on special teams in the team's 47-25 loss at Con.-St. Paul. The Falcons kicked off to open the game and Baillargeon booted an on-side kick and recovered the ball at the Falcon 43. UWRF went on to score to take a 7-0 lead. After the TD, the Falcons again did an on-side kick and once again Baillargeon did the kicking and recovered the loose ball at the UWRF 38.
