Feb. 23, 2004 Forward Nicole Magnuson (Jr., Chisago City, Minn.) had a hand in all three Falcon goals in the team's 3-1 win over St. Olaf on Wednesday at Hunt Arena. She picked up assists on the first two Falcon goals and scored the last Falcon goal at 5:11 of the third period. She leads the Falcons with 16 goals and with 16 assists is second on the team with 32 points. Feb. 9, 2004 Forward Lindsay O'Keefe (So., Roseville, Minn.) helped the Falcons win two NCHA games over seventh-ranked UW-Superior last weekend. The Falcons won 5-1 and 5-2 to raise their overall record to 13-8-1 and NCHA record to 9-4-1. The Falcons are now in second place in the NCHA. In Friday's game she had an assist on the game-winning goal and scored the team's third goal. In Saturday's win she scored an empty-net power-play goal goal. She has 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points this year. Feb. 2, 2004 Forward Lou Paulson (So., Duluth, Minn. Proctor-Hermantown HS) played two more outstanding games for the Falcons in the team's NCHA sweep of UW-Eau Claire. The Falcons won 4-1 on Friday and 5-2 on Saturday. In Saturday's game she scored the team's last two goals and got the lone assist on the game-winning score. She scored a goal earlier in the game that was disallowed. "Lou blocked several shots and was awesome on both the power play and penalty kill," Falcon Coach Joe Cranston said. Jan. 26, 2004 Forward Lou Paulson (So., Duluth, Minn. Proctor-Hermantown HS) played a key role in the Falcons two games at UW-Stevens Point last weekend. She scored two of the team's three goals. In Friday's game, she scored the team's first goal with the Falcons on the power play. Saturday she scored the team's only goal in a 1-1 overtime tie. She got the goal midway through the second period to tie the game. It was her seventh goal of the season. "Lou did an awesome job on our penalty kill also," Falcon Coach Joe Cranston said.
Forward Leah Baron (So., Hermantown, Minn. Proctor-Hermantown HS) played a key role for the Falcons in the team's 3-0 win over No. 9 ranked St. Thomas. Baron was one of the top Falcon players on the ice in scoring the team's second goal in the first period. She scored a power-play goal at 11:36.
Forward Lou Paulson (So., Duluth, Minn. Proctor-Hermantown HS) helped the Falcons to two NCHA wins last weekend at UW-Eau Claire, 3-1 and 7-2. In Friday's win she had two assists and on Saturday she scored once and had three assists. This year she has three goals and 11 assists for 14 points.
Nicole Magnuson (Jr., Chisago City, Minn.), who plays both defense and forward, had a big weekend in helping the Falcons to two NCHA wins over Lake Forest at Hunt Arena. The Falcons won on Friday, 5-1, and took a 9-0 win on Saturday. In Friday's game Magnuson scored twice, including the game winner. Saturday she came back and scored two more goals and added on two assists. For the year she leads the team with nine goals and is second with 13 points.
Lindsy Carlson (Sr., Two Harbors, Minn. Duluth East HS) sparked the Falcons to the team's first win of the season, 3-1, over Augsburg Saturday night at Hunt Arena. The two-time All-American has been playing both defense and forward for the Falcons this year. In Saturday's win she scored the game-winning goal and also assisted on the team's first goal. The game winner came with the Falcons on the power play at 14:37 of the second period. She leads the Falcons with four points. She has scored one goal and has three assists. |
