Seven members of the Falcon women's hockey team have been named to 2004 All-NCHA teams. Six Falcons were named to the 12-member first team. The Falcons had both goalies, Amber Lindner (Fr., Moorhead, Minn.) and Marlene Yaeger (Jr., Medina, Minn.), make the first team. Two defensemen also made the team - Lindsy Carlson (Sr., Two Harbors, Minn.) and Jodi Hensch (Sr., Fergus Falls, Minn.) Two forwards round out the first team picks - Nicole Magnuson (Jr., Chisago City, Minn.) and Lou Paulson (So., Duluth, Minn.) Forward Lindsay O'Keefe (So., Roseville, Minn.) earned honorable mention. Lidner is one of only two freshmen named to the first team. She finished the year with a 9-1-0 record with a 1.26 goals against average and a .939 saves percentage. She recorded two shutouts. Yaeger finished with an 8-8-1 record with a 2.09 goals against average and a .928 saves percentage. She also had two shutouts. She was named to the first team for the second straight year. Lindner finished first in the NCHA in goals against average and Yaeger was third. Carlson was named to the first team for the fourth straight year. She led the Falcons in scoring with 11 goals and 25 assists for 36 points. She led the team with 25 assists. She scored three game-winning and three power-play goals. She also led the NCHA in scoring in 2004. Hensch was named to the first team for the second straight year. She was fifth with the Falcons in scoring with six goals and 14 assists for 20 points. She scored four power-play goals and one game-winner. Carlson and Hensch formed two of the top defensive pairings in NCHA history. Nicole Magnuson was a first year player for the Falcons after transferring
from MSU-Mankato. She finished second in scoring for the Falcons with
16 goals and 17 assists for 33 points. The 16 goals led the Falcons. She
scored one power-play goal and two game-winners. She finished fourth in
the NCHA in scoring. Paulson had a second strong season for the Falcons.
She was third on the team in scoring with 14 goals and 16 assists for
30 points. She scored three power-play and three game-winning goals. She
finished third in the NCHA in scoring. Lindsay O'Keefe also had a second
strong season at UWRF. She had 14 goals and 10 assists for 24 points -
fourth on the team in scoring. She led the Falcons with six power-play
adn four game-winning goals. She was eighth in the NCHA in scoring and
led the league in power-play goals. |
