Carlson Named to AHCA West All-America First Team

Falcon Lindsy Carlson (Sr., Two Harbors, Minn.) has been named to the JOFA American Hockey Coaches Association All-America West team for the third straight year.

Carlson, who played mostly defense for the Falcons but also some at forward, was named as a defenseman. She has been named to the AHCA All-America team in 2002 and 2003.

Carlson led the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association in scoring in 2004 with 25 points. She scored seven goals and a league leading 18 assists. She scored two power-play and two short-handed goals. Carlson was also named to the All-NCHA first team for the fourth straight season in 2004.

Carlson led the Falcons in scoring with 11 goals and 25 assists for 36 points. She led the team with 25 assists. She scored three game-winning and three power play goals.

Carlson is the Falcon all-time leading scorer with 32 goals and 54 assists for 86 points. She scored 12 power play, four game-winning goals and one hat trick in her career. She also led the Falcons in scoring as a freshman in 2001 with 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points. She played in 83 career games and averaged 1.03 points a game.

Earlier this year Carlson was named the NCHA's Most Valuable Player. She also won the award in 2001 when she was a freshman at UWRF.

Also named to the West first team were; goalie Becky Kilpatrick of St. Thomas; defeseman Andrea Peterson of Gustavus Adolphus; forwards Annie Annunziato of Augsburg; Emily Kearns of St. Mary's and Erin Kegley of UW-Superior.

The team is selected by members of the AHCA.
