Falcon Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Feb. 23, 2004 Guard Darcy Olsen (Jr., Rosemount, Minn. Eastview HS) played two strong games and helped the Falcons to two WIAC wins last week. The Falcons beat Stout, 81-70 and Platteville, 73-55, at the Karges Center. The two wins helped the Falcons reach the WIAC playoffs. Against Stout she led the Falcons with 17 points. She added 14 points in the win over Platteville. In the two games she was 7-17 from the field, including 6-10 from three-point ranvg. She was 11-14 from the line for 31 points. She had seven rebounds, three assists and one steal in 74 minutes of playing time. She had only five turnovers. Feb. 16, 2004 Forward Erin Effle (Jr., Rochester, Minn. John Marshall HS) had two strong games for the Falcons last week in a 69-64 overtime loss at UW-Superior on Wednesday and a 79-71 loss at UW-Whitewater on Saturday. At UWW she scored a season-high 28 points. In the two games she was 20-31 (.645) from the field and 6-9 (.667) from the line for 46 points. She had 11 rebounds and four steals in 52 minutes of playing time. Feb. 2, 2004 Forward Traci Reimann (Fr., North Branch, Minn.) played a solid game for the Falcons in the team's 60-55 loss to UW-La Crosse at the Karges Center. She led both teams with 14 points and 12 rebounds. She shot 6-13 from the field, including 1-1 from behind the arc. She was 1-1 from the line. She finished with one assist and two steals in 34 minutes of playing time. Jan. 5, 2004 Forward Megan Lindman (Fr., Rochester, Minn. Mayo HS) was a key player for the Falcons in the team's two games last week. In the two games she was 8-19 from the field and 3-7 from the line for 19 points. She had 15 rebounds, three blocks and two steals in 44 minutes of playing time. She led the Falcons in rebounding against Whitewater and was second in rebounding against Beloit.
Forward Erin Effle (Jr., Rochester, Minn. John Marshall HS) helped the Falcons to three wins last week, including a 73-61 win at UW-La Crosse. In the three games she was 18-32 (.562) from the field, including 1-2 from three-point range. She finished 3-6 from the line for 40 points. She had 26 rebounds, including 12 in the win over La Crosse. She had seven assists, one blocked shot and six steals in 82 minutes of action.
Forward Erin Effle (Jr., Rochester, Minn. John Marshall HS) helped lead the Falcons to two wins in the Falcon Classic played last weekend at the Karges Center. The Falcons opened with a 74-65 win over St. Scholastica and came back with a 70-59 win over Northwestern. In the two games Effle finished 16-25 from the field, including 2-3 from three-point range, and 4-4 from the line for 38 points. She grabbed 11 rebounds had six assists and two steals in 52 minutes of playing time. In the team's win over Northwestern she led the Falcons with 27 points and 11 rebounds. |
