Janet Cobbs Mulholland - Assistant Volleyball Coach

Janet Cobbs Mulholland plays a key role with the Falcon volleyball program as the team’s assistant coach.

She was an assistant with the Falcons in the 1998 and 1999 seasons. In 2000 she was an assistant coach at the University of Minnesota. She returned to the Falcon bench in the 2001 season.

Her return gives the team some added bench coaching in several facets of the game.

She had highly successful collegiate, national and professional careers. She was a three-time All-American and was named the 1988 NCAA Div. II Player of the Year while playing at North Dakota State. She also won the 1988 Honda-Broderick Div. II Athlete of the Year award. She still holds nine NDSU records including most season kills (739) and most career kills (2,091). She was named the North Central Conference's Most Outstanding Player in 1988 and was named to the All-NCC team three times.

Cobbs Mulholland was a member of the U. S. national team from 1989-93. She was a member of the 1992 U.S. National team which won a bronze medal in Barcelona, Spain. She is the only Div. II product to play on the Olympic team.
