Brune, Tvrdik, Petersen Named to All-Region Teams

Falcon volleyball players Krystle Brune (Sr., Oakdale, Minn.) and Melissa Tvrdik (Sr., Farwell, Minn.) have both been named to the AVCA All-Midwest Region team and Nina Petersen (Jr., Byron, Minn.) earned honorable mention to the squad. Earlier this year all three were named to the first All-WIAC team. Tvrdik was also named the WIAC Player of the Year and the sport's Scholar-Athlete. Tvrdik was named to the 2002 AVCA All-Midwest team and was later named to the second AVCA All-American team. Brune finished with 480 kills, tops on the team. She had a .249 hitting
percentage. She had 128 digs and 65 total blocks. Petersen finished with 379 kills, third on the team. She had a .238 hitting percentage. She had 114 digs and 102 blocked shots, third on the team. UW-RF finished the regular season with a 35-6 overall record. The Falcons
tied for first in the WIAC regular season standings with a 7-1 record.
It was the second year in a row that the Falcons have tied for the No.
