Falcon Coach Faye Perkins won her 300th career game at UWRF on Sunday
(March 28) when her team beat UM-Morris, 9-1, at the Augsburg Tournament.
UWRF won the second game played that day and Perkins now has a 301-252-1
record. She is in her 15th year with the Falcons.
UWRF has a 12-4 record and that's the best start to a season since the
1991 Falcons started 11-4.
Under Perkins the team continues to be one of the top powers in the WIAC
and the Great Lakes Region. The Falcons won back-to-back WIAC playoff
champions in 1993 and 1994. The team also qualified for the NCAA Div.
III playoffs in both those seasons. Perkins has led the team to seven
WIAC West Division championships (2001, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1993, 1992,
1989). The Falcons have been nationally ranked in six of the last 14 years
and had six straight seasons of 20 or more wins (1991-96). She led the
Falcons to a school-record 28 wins in 1993. Perkins has coached 49 All-American
Scholar-Athletes and her 1993-94 team had the second highest overall grade
point average in all of Div. III. Three of her athletes have won the WIAC
Scholar-Athlete award. Perkins has coached 10 Regional All-Americans and
49 of her student-athletes have been named to All-WIAC teams.
