2003 Falcon Golf Player of the Week |

Sept. 22, 2003 Ellen Berndt (Jr., Rice Lake, Wis.) played two solid rounds for
the Falcons last weekend. She was the team's top golfer in both meets
and helped the Falcons to a first place finish in the UW-RF Invitational
and a fourth place finish at the Luther Invitational. At the UW-RF Invite
she shot 45-42 - 87 and finished third overall. At Luther she placed eighth
with 41- 44 - 85. Par was 72 on both courses. "Ellen had two good
rounds back-to-back and helped us to win our invitational on Friday,"
Coach Jeff Berkhof said. Sept. 15, 2003 Gabrielle VanDyk (Fr., Luverne, Minn.) had another strong meet
for the Falcons at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational held last weekend.
She shot the low round of the tourney on Saturday with a 76. She shot
a 90 on Sunday to finish with a two-day total of 166. She finished in
a tie for first place and helped the Falcons to a tie for first place
in the team standings. Par for the course was 73. Sept. 9, 2003 Gabrielle VanDyk (Fr., Luverne, Minn.) shot two great rounds at
the St. Mary's Invitational held Friday and Saturday in Winona, Minn.
She opened with an 81 on Friday and came back with a 79 on Saturday for
a two-day total of 160. Par was 73. She placed second overall. "Gabe
had two great rounds," Coach Jeff Berkhof said. "I expect her
to continue to come through for us with some good rounds this year." Sept. 2, 2003 Ellen Berndt (Jr., Rice Lake, Wis.) helped lead the Falcons to an eighth place finish in the 16 team UW-Eau Claire Invitational held last weekend. Berndt shot rounds of 89-79 for a 168 total to lead the Falcons. Par was 73. She placed in a tie for 11th place overall. "Ellen's 79 on Sunday was the second lowest round of the day. She did a great job of coming back and playing well on the second day," Falcon Coach Jeff Berkhof said. |
