Falcon Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Feb. 11, 2002

Guard Lisa Bartsch (So., Vernon Center, Minn. Lake Crystal-Wellcome-Memorial HS) played two strong games for the Falcons off the bench last week. In the two games she was 7-14 from the field and 1-2 from the line for 15 points. She had 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals in 40 minutes of playing time.

 

 

Feb. 4, 2002

Post player Erin Effle (Fr., Rochester, Minn. Mayo HS) helped the Falcons win two WIAC games last week over Superior and La Crosse. She led the Falcons in scoring in both games and she scored 44 points. She was 15-31 from the field, including 1-4 from three-point range. She was 13-18 from the line. She collected 14 rebounds, had two assists, three blocks and two steals in 58 minutes of action.

 

 

Jan. 28, 2002

Forward Melissa McKernon (Sr., Owatonna, Minn.), "played a great game at Whitewater," Falcon Coach Cindy Hovet said. McKernon led the Falcons with 18 points. She was 6-12 from the field, including 3-6 from three-point range. She was 3-3 from the line. She also had five rebounds, four assists and a steal in 38 minutes of action.

 

 

Jan. 7, 2002

Guard Sarah Pollock (Sr., Durand, Wis.) played her first two games of the season last week. She was out with an injury but came back to start the two contests. She scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds. She was 5-12 from the field, including 1-4 from three-point range. She was a perfect 12-12 from the line. She had five assists and one steal.

 

 

 

Dec. 3, 2001

Guard Nicole Harberts (Jr., Rochester, Minn. Mayo HS) had two solid games for the Falcons last week. At Silver Lake she scored eight points and had four rebounds and at home against Whitewater she finished with 13 points and four rebounds. She was 8-21 from the field, including 2-3 from three-point range. She was 3-5 from the line for 21 points. She had eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.

 

 

Nov. 26, 2001

Forward Melissa McKernon (Sr., Owatonna, Minn.) helped the Falcons to two wins last week. She led the Falcons with 23 points in the win at Bethel. In the two games she scored 35 points going 11-24 from the field including 1-5 from three-point range. She was 12-16 from the line and was a perfect 8-8 against Bethel. She grabbed 14 rebounds and had four assists.
