Falcon Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Feb. 19, 2001

Forward Pat Ptacek (6-6, 225, Sr, Prescott, Wis.) had two solid games for the Falcons last week. In the two contests he was 11-19 from the field and 5-8 from the line for 27 points. He had 10 rebounds, two assists and just one turnover in 52 minutes of play.

 

 

 

 

Feb. 12, 2001

Forward Rich Melzer (6-8, 208, Fr, Minneapolis, Minn. River Falls HS) had his best two games of his career for the Falcons last week. In the two games he was 19-38 from the field and 8-10 from the line for 46 points. He had 18 rebounds, two assists, four blocks and two steals in 64 minutes of playing time. In the team's win over Stout, he was 12-19 from the field and 6-7 from the line for a career-high 30 points. He also had 11 rebounds and four blocks in the game.

 

 

 

Feb. 5, 2001

Forward Edmund Johnson (6-5, 220, Jr, Indianola, Iowa) had two solid games for the Falcons in WIAC play last week. In the two games he was 13-24 from the field and 5-8 from the line for 31 points. He had 19 rebounds and one assist in 62 minutes of action. Johnson led the Falcons with 17 points and eight rebounds in a 65-61 win at La Crosse.

 

 

 

Jan. 29, 2001

Forward Edmund Johnson (6-5, 220, Jr, Indianola, Iowa) played a huge role in the Falcons' 71-70 WIAC win at Whitewater Saturday night. He was 7-12 from the field and 2-4 from the line for 16 points, which led the team. He also led the Falcons with nine rebounds, eight of them coming on the defensive end. He had one assist and one steal in 34 minutes of action. "Edmund played a key role in the win. He had one of his best games ever for us," Coach Rick Bowen said.

 

 

Jan. 22, 2001

Guard Brian Mathison (6-2, 207, So, Cumberland, Wis.) helped the Falcons to one win in two WIAC games last week. In the two contests he was 10-16 from the field including 3-5 from three-point range. He was 4-6 from the line and scored 27 points. He had five rebounds, five assists and three steals in 61 minutes of playing time.

 

 

 

 

Jan 8, 2001

Guard Kent Becker (5-11, 180, Jr, Stone Lake, Wis. Hayward HS) helped the Falcons to two WIAC wins last week. He led the team in scoring with 24 points against La Crosse. In the two games he was 13-20 from the field, including 5-8 from three-point range. He was 7-8 from the line and scored 38 points. He had four assists, three steals and committed just two turnovers in 72 minutes of action.

 

 

 

Dec. 16, 2000

Guard Kent Becker (6-1, 185, Fr, Stone Lake, Wis. Hayward HS) led the Falcons to the win at Superior. He was 6-14 from the field including 2-2 from three points range and 4-5 from the line. He scored 18 points. He led the team with six rebounds and eight assists. He also had four steals and played just under the full 40 minutes of the game.

 

 

 

Dec. 11, 2000

Guard Kent Becker (Jr., Stone Lake, Wis., Hayward HS) had another two strong games for the Falcons. He was 15-27 from the field including 4-7 from three-point range. He was a perfect 10-10 from the line and scored 44 points. He had 12 rebounds, nine assists and four steals in 72 minutes of action. The point guard had no turnovers in the two games. He scored 30 points against Oshkosh.

 

 

 

Dec. 4, 2000

Guard Kent Becker (Jr., Stone Lake, Wis. Hayward HS) helped the Falcons to two wins last week, including a WIAC win over Whitewater. In the two games he was 11-21 form the field, including 4-7 from three-point range. He was 18-19 from the line. He grabbed eight rebounds, scored 44 points had five assists and four steals in 69 minutes of action. Against Whitewater he led the team in scoring with 33 points going 8-15 from the field (3-5 from three-point) and 14-15 from the line.

 

 

Sept. 20, 2000

Guard Kent Becker (Jr., Stone Lake, Wis. Hayward HS) helped lead the Falcons to two wins at Southwestern College over the weekend. In the two games he was 8-17 from the field including 3-6 from three-point range. He was 4-6 from the line. He had 13 rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 53 minutes of action.
