Falcon Baseball Players of the Week

May 7, 2001

Field
Outfielder Scott DeWyre (So., Glenwood City, Wis.) had a hot bat for the Falcons in four WIAC games. He was 8-12 at the plate for a .666 average. He scored one run and had four RBIs. He walked once and handled seven chances in the field with no errors. He hit a two-run homer in the first game against Oshkosh and had two doubles in the second game against the Titans.

Pitcher
Dan Morgan (So., Ladysmith, Wis.)
pitched nine strong innings in a 2-1 loss to UW-Stevens Point on Saturday. He allowed the two earned runs while striking out six and he didn't walk a batter. He allowed just six hits.

 

 

April 30, 2001

Hitter
Cameron Laqua (Fr., Lake City, Minn.) had six solid games at the plate for the Falcons last week. He finished 6-21. He had five RBIs, scored five runs, walked once and had one double and one three-run homer.

Pitcher

Dan Morgan (So., Ladysmith, Wis.) went the distance in the team's 11-5 win over UW-Stout on Friday. He scattered 13 hits and allowed five runs, four were earned. He walked five and struck out 11.

 

 

 

 

April 23, 2001

Hitter
Coach Steve Block named both second baseman Scott DeWyre (So., Glenwood City, Wis.) and right fielder Josh Eidem (So., Rochester, Minn. Mayo HS). DeWyre was 6-17 in the four WIAC games. He hit two homers and a double in the first game against Whitewater and one homer in the second contest. He scored five runs and had seven RBIs in the four games. Eidem was picked because he threw out two runners at third from his right field position during the weekend.

 

 

 

April 9, 2001

Hitter
Second baseman Tim Johnson (Sr. Eau Claire, Wis. Memorial HS) helped the Falcons to two wins last week. He was 4-7 at the plate, a 571 average. He had two doubles and scored three runs. He walked once. He was perfect in the field making four putouts and five assists.

Pitcher
Cameron Laqua (Fr., Lake City, Minn.)
went the distance in the team's 5-0 win over Carleton. He allowed just five hits. He struck out six and did not walk a batter.
