Chad Ernst (So., Richfield, Minn.) had a good run for the Falcons in the 10,000-meter event at the Phil Esten Challenge at UW-La Crosse on Friday. He placed fifth in 32:03.32.

Thrower Derren Izdepski (Fr., Conrath, Wis.) set a school record at the UW-River Falls Invitational held Saturday at Ramer Field. In the hammer throw he finished third with a throw of 162-9. The previous record was by Dave Huebner with a throw of 157-8 set in 1995.

Thrower Derren Izdepski (Fr., Conrath, Wis.) had a great throw in the hammer event at the Alabama Relays on Saturday. He won the event with a throw of 155-feet which is a personal best. He competed against NCAA Div. I and II track & field athletes in the event.

March 10

Track
Nick Zeien (Fr., Hastings, Minn.) set a school record at the UW-Stevens Point Last Chance meet held on Saturday. Zeien ran a 1:53.46 to set the Falcon record in the 800-meter dash. He broke the record of 1:55.73 that was set by Keven Syverson in 1994. He finished second in the race. “His time will probably qualify him for the NCAA Div. III meet this coming weekend,” said Falcon Coach Martha Brennan.

JD Rojas (So., Temple Hills, Md. West Potomac HS) had a personal best time in the 3,000-meter run at the Snow Shoe Open held Friday at the University of Minnesota. He finished 10th overall in 8:57.94.

Feb. 18

Track
Sprinter Dan Rodewald (So., River Falls, Wis.) had some excellent races at the Oshkosh Invitational and Whitewater Classic on Friday and Saturday. He won the 400-meter dash in 51.57 at Oshkosh. On Friday at Whitewater he placed seventh in the 200 in 23.26 and 12 th in the 400 in 52.02. His 400-meter time at Whitewater was a personal best.

Feb. 11

Jason Phillippi (Sr., Maplewood, Minn. Tartan HS) broke his own school record in the mile at the UWRF Coca Cola Classic held Saturday at the Knowles Building. He won the race in a time of 4:16, which is a provisional qualifying time for the NCAA National Meet. He set the record in 2007 with a time of 4:17.75.

Thrower Derren Izdepski (Fr., Conrath, Wis.) set a Falcon record in the weight throw at the UWRF Coca Cola Classic held Saturday at the Knowles Building. He placed second with a throw of 51-7 ¼. The record was 49-2 held by Dave Huebner set in 1994.

Feb. 4

Jason Phillippi (Sr., Maplewood, Minn. Tartan HS) set a school record in the 1,000-meter run at the MSU-Mankato Open held Saturday. He finished third overall in 2:31.71. The previous record was 2:31.82 set by Sean McGurran in 1990.

Jan. 28

Scott Degner (Jr., Osceola, Wis.) had a great early season run for the Falcons at the Stout Open held Saturday in Menomonie. Degner, 6-0, placed fifth in the mile with a time of 4:23.3.
