| Martha Brennan is in her fourth season as the head men's and women's track and field coach at UW-River Falls.
Brennan led the 2007 Falcons to the most successful season ever. The women's team placed third in the WIAC outdoor championships held at UW-River Falls. The Falcons won six individual championships led by Jill Crandall who won the high jump (5-5 3/4) and the heptathlon (4,444 points) and was named the Field Athlete of the Meet. Brennan coached five Falcons to All-American status (Crandall, Clint Christy, Shannon Zweifel, Krista Hasselquist, Vicki Cooper). Crandall won the high jump National Championship (5-7) and was named the Women's Field Athlete of the Year by the USTFCCCA. The Falcon women set six outdoor and six indoor school records. The men set three indoor and three outdoor school records. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, she teaches in the UWRF health & human performance department. Before going to Texas A&M, she coached at the University of Iowa and at Louisiana State University as a graduate assistant. At Iowa she was responsible for the women jumpers, throwers and multi-event athletes. She also coached a women's 400-meter hurdler All-American. She also was the team's strength and conditioning coordinator. At LSU she worked in the athletic department compliance and marketing departments and with the senior women's administrator. She also assisted with ticket office and event management operations. In 1997 Brennan was a member of the USA National tack & field team and competed in the Olympic Trials in 1996 as a heptathlete. She was a member of the 1994 and 1995 NCAA National Championship winning teams at LSU. She was a five-time All-American while competing at the University of South Dakota (1991-93).
