Nov. 7, 2007 Sperstad played in all 19 games for the Falcons this season and started 18 times. She had two goals and five points. She had 25 shots. Sperstad, who was named to the All-WIAC team after the 2006 season, played in 75 career games and scored eight goals and 26 career points. She was named the team's Player of the Week once in 2007. After the 2004 season Sperstad was named the team's Rookie of the Year. "Julie is a physical presence in our central midfield," said Falcon Coach Sean McKuras. "She can dominate in the air as well as make passes on the ground. Her ability to communicate keeps our defense linked with our offense." Olson played in and started all 19 games this year. She had three assists and was named the team's Player of the Week four times. She recorded 11 shots. She played in 75 career games and had three goals and 11 career points. After the 2006 season she was named the team's Most Valuable Defensive player. "Tracy is a leader on and off the field," said McKuras. "She is a very aggressive player with great knowledge of the game. We have had her matched up with other teams' strongest players and she always rises to the challenge." "Our team will miss both Jullie and Tracy on the field. Our program will miss them because of their commitment to excellence," said McKuras. Both players were captains of this year's team. |
