Goalie Cassi Campbell (Fr., Anchorage, Alaska) helped lead the Falcons to the O'Brien Cup Championship game in Superior. Campbell, 5-6, saved 98 of 102 shots (.960 saves percentage). She stopped 28 of 29 shots in a 6-1 win over Finlandia, 34 of 35 shots in a 2-1 win over No. 8 ranked UW-Stevens Point and 36 of 38 shots against No. 6 ranked UW-Superior (36). "We had great goaltending from Campbell in the Superior game and all weekend," said Falcon Coach Joe Cranston. Campbell helped the Falcons to victory in a tough Steven Point semifinal game where the Falcons were out shot 35-15. She finishes her freshman year with a 16-9-2 record, a 1.74 goals against average and a .931 saves percentage. She registered four shutouts.

Feb. 25

Forward Jamie Briski (Fr., Chisholm, Minn. Hibbing-Chisholm HS) scored four points this weekend in a series split against UW-Eau Claire at Hunt Arena. The freshman knocked in her third short-handed goal of the season. The three short-handed goals is a single season Falcon record. She helped the Falcons secure a 4-2 victory Saturday afternoon with three of her four points on the weekend with a one goal, two assist performance. She assisted on the first goal and scored the second goal, short-handed. She also picked up an assist on the team's fourth goal. She scored the first goal of the game, her 12th goal of the season, on Sunday. Briski leads the Falcons in scoring with 12 goals and 24 points. She has one power-play goal and one game-winner.

Feb. 18

Forward Stefanie Schmitz (So., Farmington, Minn.) helped the Falcons to a series sweep this weekend against Finlandia at Hunt Arena. The Falcons won on Saturday, 5-1 and took a 7-0 win on Sunday. Schmitz, 5-4, powered the Falcon offense with two assists and a goal in the 7-0 win. She now has 20 points on the season - five goals and a team leading 15 assists. Her 20 points ties her for second on the team in scoring. Schmitz has scored two power-play and one short-handed goal.

Feb. 11

Forward Abby Sunderman (So., LeSueur, MN/LeSueur-St. Peter HS) played two excellent games to help lead the Falcons to a weekend NCHA sweep at Concordia. The Falcons won on Saturday, 5-1, and took a 4-0 win on Sunday. Sunderman, 5-4, picked up an assist in Saturday's win and scored the team's fourth goal of the game, a power-play goal, on Sunday. "Abby played great in all phases of the game," said Falcon Coach Joe Cranston. "She played very well in penalty killing and power play situations." Sunderman has four goals and 11 points this year. Her power-play goal on Sunday was her first of the year.

Feb. 4

Goalie Cassi Campbell (Fr., Anchorage, Alaska) helped the Falcons to a 3-3 overtime tie against UW-Stevens Point on Saturday afternoon at Hunt Arena. Campbell, 5-6, stopped 37 of 40 shots (.925 saves percentage) against the Pointers, which entered the game as the No. 3 ranked team in the USCHO.com poll. She stopped all four shots she faced in the overtime period. This year she has a 9-7-2 record with a 2.01 goals against average and a .920 saves percentage.

Jan. 28

Defender Jessie Dyslin (Jr., South St. Paul, Minn.) played well for the Falcons in the team's two NCHA games last weekend at Hunt Arena. Dyslin, 5-5, scored her third goal of the season at 12:11 of the second period on Saturday to tie the game at the time, 1-1. It was her second power-play goal of the season. Dyslin has three goals and eight points for the Falcons this season.

Jan. 21

Forward Jenna Scanlon (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn., Apple Valley HS) played well for the Falcons in three games last week. She scored a goal and had an assist in the team's 5-1 win at Adrian on Saturday. Sunday at Adrian she scored two goals. She scored the team's first and third goals of the game. This year Scanlon, 5-11, has scored 10 goals and 15 points. She is tied for the team lead in goals and is tied for second in points. She leads the Falcons with four power-play goals and she has three game-winners.

Jan. 14

Forward Jessica Thompson (Fr., Shoreview, Minn. Mounds View HS) helped lead the Falcons to two road NCHA wins last weekend. In Saturday's 5-4 overtime win at No. 9 ranked UW-Superior, she scored a goal and had two assists. She scored the team's second goal, a power-play tally, with 37 seconds to play in the first period. She picked up the first assist on the game-winning goal. She took the original shot that was tipped past the UWS goalie. In Sunday's 5-0 win at Finlandia, she scored once. She scored the team's second goal at 6:51 of the second period. "Jessica played awesome for us all weekend," said Falcon Coach Joe Cranston. Thompson, 5-6, leads the Falcons in scoring with six goals and 14 points. She has scored two power-play goals and one game-winner.

Jan. 7

Forward Kelly Jensen (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) scored twice to help the Falcons to a 7-0 win over Bethel University on Saturday afternoon. Jensen, 5-3, scored the team's sixth and seventh goals of the game. She finished +3 in the game that the Falcons set a school record by scoring seven third period goals. "Kelly played hard and did a great job on special teams," said Falcon Coach Joe Cranston. UWRF killed off three BU power play opportunities. Jensen has scored five goals and seven points this year. She has one power-play and one short-handed goal.

Dec. 17

Forward Jenna Scanlon (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn., Apple Valley HS) helped the Falcons extend their winning streak to four last week as the Falcons beat Augsburg, 8-1, at home and UW-Eau Claire, 1-0, on the road. Scanlon, 5-11, scored the only goal of the game at Eau Claire. She also picked up an assist against Augsburg. Scanlon played critical roles in breaking up power play attempts against both teams. " Her penalty killing, along with (Stefanie) Schmitz, (Cassie) LeBlanc, (Kelly) Jensen, and (Abby) Sunderman has been outstanding," said Falcon Coach Joe Cranston. " Jenna battles hard and wins almost every one." Augsburg and Eau Claire were both 0-5 on the power play. She has scored four goals and has six points this season. She has scored one game-winning and one power-play goal.

Dec. 10

Forward Cassie LeBlanc (So., Anoka, Minn., Anoka High School) helped the Falcons to two NCHA wins last weekend at Hunt Arena. She scored three goals this weekend including two crucial goals against Lake Forest on Friday. She scored the team's second goal of the game at 6:19 of the third period to give UWRF a 2-0 lead. Lake Forest than scored twice to tie the game, 2-2. LeBlanc came back to score the game winner at 1:13 of overtime to help the Falcons to a 3-2 win. Saturday, in a 6-3 win over Concordia, she scored her fifth goal of the season at 15:37 of the second period and it proved to be the game winner. " She was the best forward in the rink both days," said Falcon Coach Joe Cranston. She is third on the team in scoring with six points (5-1) and has two game-winning-goals.

Nov. 19

Defenseman Kacie Anderson (Sr., Salem, Wis. Shattuck-St. Mary’s PS) played two solid games for the Falcons in the team's weekend split at Lake Forest. She helped the Falcons rebound and defeat Lake Forest Sunday afternoon. She played excellent defense breaking up Lake Forest scoring opportunities and power plays. Offensively she help out as well, assisting on three of the four Falcon goals in the team's 4-1 win. She picked up the lone assist on the game-winning goal. " Kacie wins battles all over the ice," said Falcon Coach Joe Cranston. "She has gotten better every year." She has five assists this season and leads the team in scoring.

Nov. 12

Goalie Cassi Campbell (Fr., Anchorage, Alaska) played well for the Falcons in the team's 3-1 loss to Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday at Hunt Arena. Campbell, 5-6, stopped 24 of 26 shots (.923) she faced in the game. The last Gustie goal went into an empty net. Campbell is 1-1 this year with a 1.50 goals against average and a .942 saves percentage.

Nov. 5

Defenseman Kacie Anderson (Sr., Salem, Wis. Shattuck-St. Mary’s PS) played a key role in the team’s 5-1 season-opening win over St. Catherine on Saturday night. She helped the Falcons kill off three 5-on-3 penalty situations in the third period. Anderson also contributed on the offensive side with an assist on the team’s fourth goal. “Kacie did a great job on the 5-on-3s and played outstanding defense all game long,” said Falcon Coach Joe Cranston.
