April 17, 2009 This is the first edition of our monthly newsletter that will be posted on our website. I am getting more and more comfortable with the capabilities of the computer and all of its uses. I thought it might be a good idea to start this. Our goals are to give out information each month that might be of interest to many of you. Most of it will deal directly with the Falcon Football program but we will probably include other bits of information that might be of general interest. Another thought I had was to try to mention a few alumni each month. I am specifically thinking about those who run their own businesses and who are in teaching who might be looking for jobs. Maybe we can help these Falcons out. Also, if you have accomplished something that you’d like to share let me know I’ll put it in the letter So if you are one of these guys email me (john.f.ogrady@uwrf.edu) and I will promote you in this newsletter. I have one great piece of news. Lately Dan VandeYacht, Chris Krueger, Chris O’Brien, and most recently Don Richards, have been meeting and discussing the possibility of starting a new QB Club for the Falcons. I will keep you posted on this development. It is exciting and we hope to have many of you get involved. We hope to have at least 4 events each year. Some of the ideas include: a social get together; a community service event; a fund raiser and weekly meetings of some sort during the season. I will keep you posted. We are starting spring football on Friday April 17. We will practice for four weekends. Practice times are: Friday and Sunday at 4 PM and Saturday at 9 AM. You are all welcome to stop by. We practice at the Intramural fields which are located across the Kini from the power plant. Hey, remember July 11! Party at OG’s starting at 3 PM. Former Falcons, coaches, friends, and families are all invited. By the way if you have a son, or know of any high school players who are looking for a good football camp, send them here! We do a great job with these camps. All of the necessary information can be accessed online. The web site is: www.uwrf.edu/sports/camps.php. You’ll find all of the information you need. GO FALCONS!
