| Andy Kotelnicki
Andy Kotelnicki is one of the bright, young minds in college football and starts his third season at UWRF in 2008. Kotelnicki is the team's offensive coordinator and will coach offensive linemen this fall. In 2006 he coached the secondary but returned to coach the offensive line, a position group that he has coached in the past. His aggressiveness, passion and work are all important keys for the Falcons. He has brought a new light to the Falcon recruiting plan and has already brought several outstanding high school student-athletes to campus. Kotelnicki is a member of the University's health & human performance department and teaches scientific principals of strength & conditioning and coaching young athletes. He is also the University's Lifetime Fitness Coordinator. "Andy is a former Falcon who has come here willing to do everything and anything," said Falcon Head Coach John O'Grady. "When something needs doing, he's the first one in line to get it done. He will do a great job coaching the offensive linemen and will be a great help as offensive coordinator." He was an assistant football coach at Western Illinois University for two years. In the 2005 season he coached tight ends in an offense that averaged 32 points per game. He also worked with the special teams. In 2004 he worked with the WIU offensive line. During his years with the Leathernecks he worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. He was a starting center for the Falcon football team in 2001, 2002 and 2003. He was nominated as a team captain in his senior season. He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Kotelnicki, a Litchfield, Minn., native, earned his undergraduate degree from UWRF in health & human performance in 2004. He earned his master's degree in kinesiology from Western Illinois and is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Kotelnicki's is married to Lindsey (Oberg), who was a tennis player and captain of the Falcons. She earned her degree in finance from the University in 2002. Greg Bower Greg Bower starts his first season at UWRF in 2008 and will be the team’s defensive coordinator. Bower was an assistant coach at Northern Illinois for the past eight seasons. He coached tight ends for four seasons (2004-07). He also coached defensive tackles for two seasons (2002-03) and was a defensive graduate assistant coach (2000-01). Prior to his arrival at NIU, he spent seven seasons on the coaching staff at his alma mater, Loras College. During his time at Loras (1993-99), the Duhawks posted five .500 or better seasons. After beginning his career as a graduate assistant coaching the Loras linebackers, Bower spent his last four seasons at Loras as the defensive coordinator, working with the linebackers in 1996 and moving to the secondary from 1997-99. His Duhawk defense produced seven All-Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) performers, including a pair of first team selections. Bower was a four-year letter winner for the Duhawks from 1989-92, starting at middle linebacker his final two seasons. He made 147 career tackles and was part of the IIAC's No. 2 defense in both 1989 and 1990. A two-sport standout at Orangeville (Ill.) High School, Bower won three letters in football and two in basketball. As a senior in 1988, he was a first team all-conference choice at both offensive guard and linebacker for the Orangeville team that advanced to the Class 1A state semifinals. Bower, who was born in Monroe, Wis., earned his bachelor's degree in history from Loras in 1993 and added a master's degree in physical education in 2001. He and his wife, Liz, have three children, son Brett (7) and daughters Faith (5) and Grace (3). |
