River Falls - Stout Game Wrap It was a real heart breaker to say the least. The positives: we were able to run the ball very well most of the day. Taylor Edwards was running through some gaping holes at times. Taylor ended up with 207 yards on 39 attempts. I am thrilled with our running ability. Our offensive line is becoming a force to be reckoned with. Our defense did a much better job than a year ago. We did not allow a touchdown until the overtime segment. We also had a couple of outstanding goal line stands and forced Stout to kick field goals. Our kickoff team is the highlight of our special teams. Drake Klatt continues to pin the return unit deep in its territory that deals directly with field position. The rest of our kicking game is in shambles especially our PAT/FG unit and our punt unit. The lack of execution on those units played a major role in our loss. We’ve got to get better and I think our young guys will improve. We cannot win games if our passing game does not improve. This is a very disappointing development for me. We spend almost an hour each practice on our passing game and it has got to improve. As it does our run game will become even more productive. We travel to Oshkosh this Saturday. With the newly adopted conference “cost saving” plan we are not allowed to travel the night before the game. See you in Oshkosh! Go Falcons! John O |
