Bayli Maliszewski (Fr., Arcadia, Wis. Independence HS) had a personal best time at the WIAC Meet held Saturday at UW-Whitewater. Maliszewski, 5-8,
cracked the top five for the first time at the conference meet running a personal best time of 26:08 helping the Falcons to a hard fought seventh place finish. This is her first cross country season at any level. "Bayli has been a wonderful surprise this year," said Falcon Coach Scott Sekelsky. "Having very little running experience, she has steadily improved over the course of the season. I think on Saturday she finally broke through and now understands how it feels to push herself harder. When she needed her to respond during the race she did and that helped out her team a lot." |

Jacque Braemer (So., Eagan, Minn.) was the first Falcon to cross the finish line at the Wissota Invitational held Friday. With four inches of snow covering the course, Braemer still had a great race finishing the 5,000-meter course in 22:23. She improved her 5,000-meter finish at the Luther meet in early September by two minutes. "Jacque had an injury early in the year but fought her way through it to have a very nice cross country season to date. She continues to improve every week and is really learning to push herself. I am very proud of the way she has stuck with it and I am excited to watch her continued improvement," said Falcon Coach Scott Sekelsky. |

Katie Rydeen (Fr., Osceola, Wis.) ran just her second cross country race at any level at the Neubauer Invitational held Saturday in La Crosse. She was the eighth Falcon to cross the finish line in 26:19. She placed 299th of 448 runners. "Katie has been impressive to say the least,” said Falcon Coach Scott Sekelsky. “It can often take a runner several seasons to learn what Katie has been able to do in just a few short weeks. She really seems to be pushing herself hard while looking very calm and relaxed while doing it. I am excited to see what comes next." |
