Football CampsBig 'O' Big 'D' Camp Application - Word Document July 12-15, 2009 .......... 4 days ..... $270 This is a camp for anyone in any offense or defense. We concentrate on fundamental skills that will apply to any high school football player at all positions. This has been an extremely popular camp because we try to give our campers the most realistic football experience possible without wearing lower body pads. Offensive players and defensive players are put into realistic situations against each other without the use of blocking dummies. Quarterbacks are taught drop back, play action, and throwing techniques. Wide receivers work quick, intermediate, and deep route techniques. Running backs learn handoff and running skills along with techniques in the passing game. Offensive linemen learn run blocking and pass protection skills. They will also work live, 1 on 1 pass protection drills vs defensive linemen. Tight ends will work with the wide receivers for passing game skills and with the offensive linemen for run blocking skills. Defensive linemen will learn stance, get off and run reaction skills. They will also work pass rush technipues and will work live 1 on 1 vs. offensive linemen. Inside and outside linebackers will work all fundamental skills vs run and pass. Defensive backs will learn run support techniques, zone defensive skill and 1 on 1 coverage skills vs wide receivers and quarterbacks. We have hired as many as 68 coaches to work this camp. Our coach to player ratio has been as good as 1 to 5! This is a physical and demanding camp. Our campers for years say it is the best and most realistic camp when comparing it to all others. We are not a big, Division I camp that is devoted to identifying whom we want to put on scholarship. Our goal is to make every camper who attends a better, more knowledgeable player! The camp is divided into halves. Each half consists of 5 practices. Most players choose an offensive or defensive position for 5 practices, then move to the other side of the ball for the remaining 5 practices. A player can choose to play one position for the entire camp (all 10 practices). John O'Grady has completed his 20th year as Falcons football coach after enjoying success as a player and coach at all levels of the college game. The 1998 Falcons tied for first place in the WIAC. They finished with a 7-3 overall record. The team led the entire country in rushing offense last season averaging 394 yards per game. The Falcons have led the NCAA Divison III in rushing in 1989, 1992, 1994, 1997 and 1998 O'Grady, 55, played for the Falcons from 1972-75 and earned four letters. He was the team captain and voted most dedicated in 1975 when the Falcons won their first WSUC title in 18 years. He played linebacker. He coached for two years at Miami University of Ohio as an offensive line coach and offensive special teams coordinator. Before that, he coached at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1985-86) as an offensive line coach and special teams coordinator, at Kent State University, Ohio, where he was offensive coordinator/offensive line and offensive special teams coordinator (1983-84), and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a part time assistant coach of tight ends and special teams (1981-82).
