Wisconsin Teaching Scholars

Structure:

The Wisconsin Teaching Scholars Program requires attendance at several OPID-sponsored events throughout the fellowship year, beginning with Faculty College (June 1-4, 2004 , in Richland Center), a one-week Summer Institute (June 20-25, 2004 , in Madison ), a fall meeting and culminating with OPID's annual Spring Conference.

The Teaching Scholars' Summer Institute coincides with that of the Wisconsin Teaching Fellows Program (a similar professional development program targeted for junior faculty and instructional academic staff). This one-week overlap of the two programs will allow for informal mentoring between senior and junior faculty.

Scholars are expected to teach the revised course that was their project either in the project year or in one of the two semesters following. The Program also holds the expectation that upon completion of the program, Teaching Scholars will collaborate with their Provosts, Dean, OPID Reps, and other campus leaders to share, disseminate, and make their work more visible to their institution.
