Wisconsin Teaching Scholars Participants: Each UW institution will nominate one faculty or instructional academic staff member, for a System total of fifteen Teaching Scholars per year. Selection Process: Provosts, in consultation with appropriate campus representatives, will select one Scholar and designate one alternate. We suggest that Provosts publicize the Program in their campus newsletters, and then consult with their OPID Representatives, campus deans, and directors of campus teaching centers during the selection process. Selection Criteria: To be selected, Fellows must:
Likely candidates will have directed faculty or instructional development programs; won teaching awards or grants; presented at campus, state, or national meetings; or published on issues in student learning. Demonstrated success in several of these areas is highly desirable. The pilot participants will help design and formulate the program for future years. They should, therefore, be colleagues who will not only pursue and bring to fruition a significant course redesign project, but will also be able to work well with other colleagues to significantly advance the task of defining and modeling the scholarship of teaching and learning.
