Academic Term Code Definitions

In eSIS, Academic Terms will be defined using a four-digit code; we recommend that you familarize yourself with this code as you will encounter it regularly in eSIS.

Cheat Sheet for current year codes:

• 1102 = Fall 2009-10
• 1104 = J-Term 2009-10
• 1106 = Spring 2009-10
• 1108 = Summer 2009-10

In case you want to understand the logic behind the codes:

1st digit = Century

• 0 = 1900's
• 1 = 2000's

2nd & 3rd digits = last year of the Academic Year

Examples:

• 2009-2010 = 10
• 2002-2003 = 03
• 2003-2004 = 04
• 1985-1986 = 86

4th digit = the term

• Fall = 2
• J-Term = 4
• Spring = 6
• Summer = 8

Examples:

• Fall semester, 2009-10 = 1102
• Fall semester, 2003-04 = 1042
• Spring semester, 2004-05 = 1056
• J-Term, 1997-98 = 0984
