“ We have a first class university in a first class city playing in a 2nd class facility.
This city and university deserve better. We can no longer sit back and wait for something to happen.
We have fallen way behind our peer institutions at the collegiate and even the high school level.
This is a long overdue project. I am completely committed to making it happen.”

Ramer Field
The David Smith family and the First National Bank of River Falls have generously committed a significant amount to support the over $3,000,000 Renovate Ramer Project. Falcon and Wildcat football teams began playing on Ramer Field in 1967. With a few minor exceptions, Ramer has been untouched since this date. Plans include a new brick stadium, expanded press-box, new lights, field turf and trees completely surrounding the facility. The renovation will bring Ramer in line with other facilities in the WIAC and Big Rivers Conference. UWRF track & field will also greatly benefit from the new facility. The highly rated UWRF women’s soccer team will be able to play its games on the new turf and under the lights.
Karges Center Upgrades
The UW -River Falls Athletic Department , the UW - River Falls Foundation and Chancellor Don Betz are making a commitment to upgrading UW-River Falls athletic facilities. The new H&HP building, which will include class rooms, laboratory facilities, pool and new gymnasium will be a state supported project with a target date of 2012.
