Pigeon Lake Field Station:
Information for Students



Registration

Summer session courses offered at Pigeon Lake Field Station will be advertised in February of each year.   Information can be obtained via summer session catalogs, posters, department newsletters and this web site.

Registration Forms and Deadline Information

Complete the entire application and registration form (attached) for all Pigeon Lake courses registered on the River Falls campus and include a $125 non-refundable deposit payable to UWRF Pigeon Lake.   Please note that all information on the registration form is required to complete the registration process. Mail the registration form and check to:

Properly completed registration forms will be processed in the order received beginning February 18, 2008. Registration must be complete and all tuition and fees paid prior to attendance of all courses and workshops offered during the 2008 summer session.

Individual registration may also be completed in person at the UWRF Pigeon Lake Office.   Bring your completed form and deposit room 172, Kleinpell Fine Arts.

Graduates

Graduates not currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin River Falls need to complete a temporary graduate application.   This application is available on-line by clicking on the following link: http://www.uwrf.edu/forms/ogs-application-temp/ . Then complete the Pigeon Lake registration form and note that you have applied for temporary graduate status on the bottom near your signature.

Reciprocity

If your are a Minnesota resident who has not attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls during the past year and have not filed a 2002-03 reciprocity form, you must do so as soon as possible to insure not paying out-of-state tuition.   On-line reciprocity forms are available at the website http://www.mheso.state.mn.us/hesod/reciprocity/apply1.cfm .   Paper applications are available at high schools throughout the state and participating reciprocity schools or by requesting it directly from: Reciprocity

Full-load tuition plateau:
Pigeon Lake courses are considered part of the 2008 University of Wisconsin System Summer Session and may be considered part of a full load at any University of Wisconsin System campus.   Please request a receipt from Accounts Receivable at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls for Pigeon Lake tuition paid which you may present to the Cashier's Office at your home campus when paying the balance.

*Note most Pigeon Lake courses are 2 credits (information located on the courses page) and to determine your total tuition cost you need to calculate the number of credits for the course you have selected.

Financial Assistance

If your payment is to be supplied by financial assistance, please provide documentation of the assistance to be received.   Financial assistance for Pigeon Lake Field Stations is handled on the same basis as it is on individual campuses.   Students needing financial assistance should inquire or apply at their home campus Financial Assistance Office.

Withdrawals, Course Cancellations and Refund Policy

he $125 deposit is non-refundable if you decide to drop a class.   If the course is already full or canceled, your deposit will be returned. Courses are subject to cancellation if enrollments do not meet university minimum requirements.   Early enrollment is encouraged.    Refunds due to course cancellation will be processed by administrative procedures in place at the campus where the student is enrolled.

Grades

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls does not mail out grade reports. Students who require credit transfer should use the following instructions.

The Pigeon Lake office will cover the cost for one official transcript only.   Additional requests must be paid for by the student.   Using the Internet, go to http://uwrf.edu/registrar , click on "printable forms" and select the grade request form.   Complete the information and fax the signed form to the Pigeon Lake Office (715) 425-0657 or mail it to:
