Pigeon Lake Field Station:
Information for Faculty
Accommodations
Faculty are required to pay for meals, but will be provided with rooms
during their stay at the Pigeon Lake Field Station when their group is
in residence for a week or longer. For further information about the station,
see the Facilities page.
Courses
Course Cancellations
Courses are subject to cancellation if fewer than twelve students are
registered two weeks prior to the date the course is scheduled to begin.
Faculty and students will be notified of cancellation one week prior to the
start date.
Course Promotion
Courses are promoted through listings in the UW Summer Session catalogs, brochures,
posters , Pigeon Lake Advisory Council members, and instructors, as well
as this Web site.
Instructors are also welcome to promote their courses as they deem necessary
(by distributing additional copies of the Pigeon Lake brochure or by creating
course posters).
Course Rosters
Faculty will be provided with course rosters with the addition or
cancellation of registrants. Rosters are printed by name and ID number.
Grading Procedures
Faculty will receive a roster, with instructions regarding the posting of grades
for their students.
NOTE: The Pigeon Lake Field Station program assistant needs summer
addresses and telephone numbers for all instructors to speed communications
and the grading process. If there are changes, please inform the PL Office
at (715) 425-3348, and/or the PL field station at (715) 739-6655.
Instructional Materials
Instructors are responsible for procurement of appropriate textbooks and
related materials and should communicate with the Station Manager regarding any
special equipment requirements such as VCR, overhead projector, etc. which
may be available at the station.
