Sustainable Agriculture

The Crops and Soils Program at UW-River Falls now offers an option in Sustainable Agriculture, in addition to the traditional options in Crop Science and Soil Science.
This option will provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to:
- produce food within the framework of sustainable agriculture systems
- market sustainable agricultural products in local, national and international areas
- promote land stewardship and rural community development
Classes provide you with skills needed to succeed in this rapidly growing area of agriculture. Coursework includes:
- sustainable agriculture
- organic production systems
- world food and population
- sociology of rural life
- forage management
- soil and water conservation
- integrated pest management
- soil fertility and nutrient management
