UWRF Hosts 27th Annual Farm-City DayJULY 25, 2008--The 27th annual St. Croix County Farm-City Day will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Mann Valley Lab Farm on Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is sponsored by the UW-Extension St. Croix County Office as well as county farmers and businesses. The free event will include tours of the new UWRF Dairy Learning Center, opened in 2007, and the campus lab farm compost barn, parlor, research facilities, classrooms and confinements grazing systems. The UWRF dairy, beef, sheep and swine herds will be highlighted along with a petting barnyard, free dairy lunch, historical exhibits and displays as well as hayrides through the University's growing crops in this traditional event highlighting the importance of agriculture to the region and beyond. An antique machinery exhibit and live music will also round out the festivities. The Mann Valley Lab Farm is at 129 South Glover Road in rural River Falls. At the junction of Main Street and County Road MM, take County Road MM west 2.5 miles to South Glover Road. The farm is on the corner. Parking for individuals with disabilities is available.
