Perpich Center Students Work with UWRF Visiting Composer

APRIL 25, 2008--On April 9, dance students from the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley, Minn., traveled to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls to meet with New York visiting composer Marc Mellits, who was on campus as part of the UWRF's Commissioned Composer program, and students from the UWRF dance program. The Perpich dance students took part in a modern dance technique with UWRF dance students and works by Marc Mellits.   The young dancers had been working with Mellits on choreographic projects for three years, using his music as the basis for their choreography.
