Young Entrepreneurs' Conference to be Held at UWRF

MARCH 28, 2008--The 4th annual Young Entrepreneurs' Conference will take place at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls April 18-19, presented by the UWRF College of Business and Economics and sponsored by Xcel Energy.

The conference begins on Friday, April 18 with speeches and a reception followed by dinner. On Saturday, April 19 registration for the conference begins at 8 a.m., and business plan presentations begins at 8:30. A luncheon and speaker panel begins at 11:45 a.m. followed by breakout sessions at 1:15 p.m. and the award ceremony and closing remarks beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Established by a grant from the Xcel Energy Foundation, the conference will give industrious students and budding entrepreneurs the chance to submit business plans to a competition.

The conference highlight is the UW Student Business Plan Competition. Other activities include presentations by successful entrepreneurs, sessions with leading business executives, and networking opportunities.

The purpose of the conference is to bring together students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and business people. The conference gives students the opportunity to find out what goes into a successful business plan, to share ideas with leading business executives and entrepreneurs, to network with business-minded individuals from all over Wisconsin.
