Recognition Awards Reception to be HeldOCT. 26, 2007-- Recipients of 2007-08 University of Wisconsin-River Falls Chancellor's Recognition Awards for academic and classified as well as the advisor and distinguished teacher of the year will be honored at a reception Nov. 6 from 3:30 to 5 p.m., in the Falls Room of the University Center. The reception is sponsored by the UW-RF Foundation. "The leadership recognized ... is an important part of traditions of excellence and the culture of this campus," says Chancellor Don Betz. "And it is doubly important as we look to the future--to fulfilling our mission, vision and values--all centered on serving students effectively." Nominations for the awards were from campus peers or from graduating seniors and former students. The five merit awards include: Gayle Dodge, agricultural economics department, and Joseph Langer, custodial services, Chancellor's Recognition Award for Classified Staff; Amy Lloyd, student affairs, Chancellor's Recognition Award for Academic Staff; Herb Cederberg, professor emeritus of history for advisor of the year; and Jim Madsen, professor of physics, distinguished teacher. -30-
