Dance Group To Perform

OCT. 12, 2007--The sounds of unusual music will be heard at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Oct. 24 as the rhythm and dance group Buckets and Tap Shoes arrives on campus with its jumble of interesting instruments in tow.

The multi-talented group began with brothers Andy and Rick Ausland as they took to the streets of Minneapolis for some impromptu performances. Soon they gained three more members and a great deal of recognition. Dance Magazine named Buckets and Tap Shoes as "Best of Fringe 2004" and "Best Dance Performance 2005," and the Minneapolis Star Tribune has called them "jaw-dropping."

Their performance at 8 p.m. at North Hall Auditorium will feature a combination of rhythm, music and tap dance using five-gallon paint buckets, metal cans, found objects, traditional instruments and, of course, tap shoes.

Tickets, available at the door, are free for UWRF students with campus ID.   The event is open to the public for $5 for adults, and $3 for children 18 and under. Children five years old and under are admitted free.

This event is part of UWRF's Wyman Series. For more information, please contact Karyn Kling at 715-425-4444.
