Klein said it was an honor to receive such a prestigious scholarship, and that her passion for the dairy industry has been life-long. "Growing up on a dairy farm gave me the motivation to educate consumers about where their dairy products are coming from," said Klein. "People do not realize how many billions of dollars the dairy industry creates for the state's economy." Klein served as a county dairy princess as well as a runner-up for Minnesota's Princess Kay of the Milky Way and in those roles worked to promote the dairy industry. This summer she worked in industry relations for the Midwest Dairy Association. Klein serves as the president of the UWRF Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow and vice president and new member chair of Alpha Zeta. She is also involved with the UWRF Chapter of the Association of Women in Agriculture, WELS Campus Ministry and the UWRF Dairy Club. She is employed by the UWRF public affairs office as a student writer. -30- Last updated:
