St. Croix Valley Community Band Gears Up

JUNE 8, 2007--Area musicians are invited to participate in the St. Croix Valley Community Band, under the direction of University of Wisconsin-River Falls music professor Kristin Tjornehoj.

Rehearsals are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. and begin Thursday, June 14 in room 129 of Kleinpell Fine Arts Building on the UWRF campus.

It is not necessary for performers to audition for the ensemble, which explores a variety of musical styles enjoyable for all ages.

Performances will be Wednesday, July 25 at 7 p.m. at Petersons' Valley View Farm in Glenwood City, Wis. For information on cost of performance/dinner and directions, contact the UWRF music department at 715-425-3183. Dinner is served at 5 p.m., and attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.

A free performance is set for Thursday, July 26 at 7 p.m. in the William Abbott Concert Hall, in the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building at UWRF.
