St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra Concert

APRIL 13, 2007--The St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls will present a concert April 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall of the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building on campus.

Music Professor Kristin Tjornehoj wil lead the regional ensemble in their final concert of the season and visiting Minnesota Orchestra member Manny Laureano will be featured on the selection, "Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra" by Franz Joseph Haydn. He will also guest conduct "Academic Festival Overture op 80" by Johannes Brahms.

Jeongin Kim, a senior music major at UWRF, will perform Beethoven's "Piano Concert No. 5" in E flat major. The orchestra will also perform "Roses of the South" by Johann Strauss.

Admission to the concert is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for students. For more information contact the UWRF music department at 715-425-3183.
