UW-RF Student Receives International Scholarship

APRIL 28, 2006--University of Wisconsin-River Falls senior Jackie Eckblad, a double major in German and biotechnology from Red Wing, Minn., was awarded with a prestigious U.S. Congress-Bundestag (German Parliament) Scholarship.

Eckblad, along with 75 youths from the United States, will participate in one year of involvement with the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals in Germany. “The goal is for us to become integrated into German society and be diplomatic representatives of the U.S.,” says Eckblad.

Upon completion of two months of language school, she will spend five months studying at the University and the next five months completing an internship with a biotechnology company.
