Students Attend Pre-Vet Symposium
APRIL 7, 2006--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Pre-Veterinary
Club attended the National Pre-Veterinary Medicine Association Symposium
March 10-12, on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing,
Michigan.
Keynote speaker at the symposium was Lester M. Crawford, former commissioner
of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Previously, Crawford was served
as the administrator of the Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA)
and deputy commissioner of the FDA. Crawford was inducted into the French
Academy of Veterinary Medicine in 1984, and in 1991 he received the Wooldridge
Award, the British Veterinary Association's highest award.
Pre-veterinary students from across the nation attended the symposium
to gain educational opportunities in the veterinary profession. Attendees
experienced dynamic laboratories and lectures, interactions with other
