Director of Development and Alumni Relations Dan McGinty will speak about the role of RSCA on campus and the support it has received from the UW-RF Foundation. Brianna Zemke, Vice President of SURSCA, will also address the group. A brief presentation ceremony and refreshments will follow. SUSRCA faculty advisor Timothy Lyden, thinks the gala is a valuable opportunity for students to feel comfortable presenting their work. "The gala allows students to practice and become familiar with presenting in a comfortable environment here on campus and helps prepare them for the spring schedule of meetingsn which includes the National Conference for Undergraduate Research." Lyden says this opportunity is important to a university student's education. "The role of SURSCA and formal presentation of a student's work at a large national meeting cannot be underestimated." Along with the showcase, there will be information about a fund raising drive to help students attend the National Conference on Undergraduate Research. This event is free and open to all students and community members. -30-
