COMMERCE SECRETARY TO SPEAK OCT. 18

OCT. 7, 2005--An informal reception with Wisconsin Department of Commerce Secretary Mary Burke, Sen. Sheila Harsdorf and Rep. Kitty Rhoades will be speaking Oct. 18 at 4:30 p.m. at the Hudson Golf Club, 201 Carmichael Road.

The Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls College of Business and Economics and the St. Croix County Economic Development Corp. are sponsoring the reception. Participants can hear about efforts to bring more jobs to Wisconsin and current legislative issues as well as ask questions of Sec. Burke and legislators.

"It is an excellent opportunity for residents of the St. Croix Valley to interact with the chamber and discuss economic development issues that face us today," said CBE Dean Barbara Nemecek.

The event is free and open to the public.
