Annual Rodeo Set for Sept. 16 & 17
SEPT. 9, 2005--The 41 st annual University of Wisconsin-River Falls Rodeo will be held Sept. 16 and 17 at the University Lab Farm No. 1. Performances are scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1:30 & 7 p.m.
Advanced tickets are available at the Hagestad Student Center or in the Agriculture Science building on campus. Adult tickets are $9, students are $5, and children ages 5 - 12 are $4. Children under age 5 are admitted free. Tickets at the gate cost $1 more.
The rodeo grounds at Lab Farm No. 1 are at the corner of Cemetery Road and Wasson Lane, just west of the Highway 65 bypass of River Falls.
Established in 1964 by the late Gerhard (Doc) Bohn, the University Rodeo was one of the first student rodeos east of the Mississippi. The rodeo team competes in about 10 rodeos across the country per year, and the rodeo is part of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association and one of 14 collegiate rodeos competing in the Great Plains region.
