Board of Regents Announce Tenure, Promotions
JUNE 27, 2005--The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents announced
tenure and promotions of UW-River Falls faculty at its June 9-10 meeting
in Milwaukee.
"All aspects of a faculty member’s responsibilities are reviewed
annually until the year of the tenure process," says Ginny Coombs,
vice chancellor and provost at UW-RF. "Being excellent teachers is
core to our primary mission at UW-River Falls, and each of the faculty
being granted tenure and promotion possess superior credentials as teachers
who are dedicated to student learning."
Tenure and promotion are granted through a rigorous review and voting
process by colleagues of the candidate's demonstrated teaching, research,
community service, and professional/scholarly activities.
Four UW-RF faculty, earned promotion to full professor, including:
Ogden Rogers of River Falls, department of social work;
Gary Cottrell of River Falls, department of communicative disorders;
Daniel Linwick of Stillwater, Minn., department of psychology; and
David Milne of St. Paul, department of music.
Other promotions and tenure awards include:
Timothy Buttles of Glenwood City, department of agricultural education,
tenure and promotion to associate professor;
Gary Onan of Ellsworth, department of animal and food science, tenure
and promotion to associate professor;
Michael Crotser of River Falls, department of plant and earth science,
tenure and promotion to associate professor;
Karl Peterson of River Falls, department of chemistry, tenure and promotion
to associate professor;
Daniel Marchand of Hudson, department of chemistry, tenure and promotion
to associate professor;
Kristine Butler Karlson of St. Paul, department of modern languages, tenure
and promotion to associate professor;
Eileen Korenic of River Falls, department of physics, tenure and promotion
to associate professor;
Lowell McKann of River Falls, department of physics, tenure and promotion
to associate professor;
Cynthia Kernahan of River Falls, department of psychology, tenure and
promotion to associate professor;
Imtiaz Moosa of River Falls, department of history and philosophy, tenure;
and
Claire Kilian of River Falls, department of business administration, tenure
and promotion to associate professor.
