Max Allen Band Kicks Off Summer Concerts

10, 2005--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls 2005 Summer Concert
Series presents the Max Allen Band, the first of six summer performances,
on Tuesday, June 21, at 7 p.m. in the outdoor Wall Amphitheatre on campus.
The band performs jazz, funk, R&B, rock and jam music. All concerts
are free and open to the public; in case of rain, the concert will be
held in the Abbott Concert Hall of the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building on
campus.
Allen, 20, is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from Indiana. A professional
musician for the past four years, he has performed at several hundred
shows at more than 100 venues. Allen released two albums in 2001 and 2002.
His most recent album, "That's Why," gained national attention
from several music industry representatives.
Allen also had the opportunity to open for and perform with several nationally
known artists such as the Clarks, Jim Ryser, Larry Crane, Chris Duart,
Dishwalla, Otiel Burbridge, Carrie Newcomer, Dickie Betts, Todd Rundgren,
Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Collective Soul, and Daryl Hall and John Oates.
