UW-RF Summer Events
UPDATED JULY 27, 2005--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls offers a variety
of cultural activities, academic programs and entertainment during summer
2005. All events are open to the public; some are free. For more information
call the numbers listed for reservations, registration, confirmation or
ticket prices.
JULY
27 St. Croix Valley Summer Community Band. Free concert featuring more
than 50 local musicians from the St. Croix Valley; the band is now in
its 23rd year. 7 p.m., Peterson's Valley View Farm, Glenwood City, Wis.
Tent on grounds. Directed by music associate Professor Kristin Tjornehoj.

27 Kansas City Chief's 15th Summer Training Camp at UW-RF. The KC Chiefs
return for another summer of NFL fun in River Falls. Most events are free

28 Kansas City Chiefs Summer Training Camp First Day of Practice. Watch
the opening day of KCC's NFL summer camp. Free and open to the public;

28-31, Aug. 3-6 "The Pirates of Penzance." The St. Croix Valley
Summer Theatre (SCVST) performs Gilbert and Sullivan’s musical comedy that takes potshots
at Victorian duty, directed by Phil Bratnober, an English teacher at Woodbury
(Minn.) High School. Blanche Davis Theatre, Kleinpell Fine Arts Building,
UW-RF. Ticket prices range from $5 to $15. For more information, contact

30 Punt, Pass & Kick Competition at Kansas City Chiefs Summer Training
Camp. Top three in each age division, ages 8-13, win a trophy. All participants
get a ribbon. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. Register at the Gazebo, Ramer Field

6 Family Fun Night at the Kansas City Chiefs Summer Training Camp. Autograph
session, food, music and games precede the night practice under the lights.
A new event is the Chiefs Experience, where participants can join in interactive
games and test their football skills. The Indianhead Sport Parachute Club
kicks off the festivities with a landing on the field, and a fireworks
display caps off the night. Admission is $6/adults and free to children
under age 18. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., Ramer Field Sports Complex, UW-RF.

20 Old Timer's Reunion. All graduates from the 1972 era and earlier are
invited to spend the afternoon with friends reliving campus memories.
