Free Music Concerts in March
FEB. 25, 2005--UW-River Falls offers a variety of music events in March.
Concerts will be performed at the William Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell
Fine Arts Building on the UW-RF campus except where noted. All events
are free and open to the public. For more information call the music department
at 715/425-3183.
March 5, 10:30 a.m. in Abbott Concert Hall - Young Person's Concert performed
by the St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra, conducted by UW-RF associate
professor Kristin Tjornehoj.
March 10, 8 p.m. - The UW-RF Symphonic Band Concert, conducted by UW-RF
associate Professor Kristin Tjornehoj.
March 11, 7-11 p.m. - The UW-RF Jazz Ensembles I and II Swing Dance at
Brandy's in the Hagestad Student Center on the UW-RF campus. Performances
directed by UW-RF associate Professor David Milne.
March 13, 3 p.m. - Faculty Recital, featuring Andrew Parks on the horn,
Keith Thompson on the Corno da Caccia and Beverly Soll on the piano.
March 15, 8 p.m.- World music concert featuring Brasamba, a concert of
Brazilian music.
March 17, 8 p.m. - Convocation Student Recital performed by UW-RF music
students.
March 17, 7 p.m. - Jazz Community Concert, a special joint concert featuring
River Falls High School Jazz Ensemble, directed by Joe Coughlin; the Chippewa
Falls HS Jazz Ensemble I, directed by Doug Greenhalgh; and UW-RF Jazz
Ensemble I, directed by UW-RF associate Professor David Milne.
March 31, 8 p.m. - Trombone and Euphonium Studio Recital performed by
students of UW-RF faculty member Rick Gaynor.
