Economic Seminar Examines CEO Succession
FEB. 5, 2005--The UW-River Falls Center for Economic Research is holding
a seminar examining the succession of top executives on Feb. 18 at 3:15
p.m. in Room 321 of South Hall.
Jude Rathburn, UW-RF professor of management, will present, "New
CEO Experience and Lineage Effects on the Magnitude and Timing of Change
and on Organizational Performance."
Rathburn examined the success of new executives to CEO positions from
data previously collected on head coach successions, change, and performance
in the National Football League. Rathburn's research shows top executive
succession positively influences the performance of an organization by
studying the timing of the change and the experiences of the new CEO.
The seminar is free and open to the public. The presentation will be preceded
by refreshments at 3 p.m. in Room 317 of South Hall.
For more information on the center or the seminar series, contact Hamid
