Small Business Advising in Polk, Pierce Cos.
NOV. 12, 2004--Free individual business advising sessions
will be held at the at the Pierce County Extension Office in Ellsworth
on Thursday, Nov. 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Polk County Extension
Office in Balsam Lake on Thursday, Dec. 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The sessions will offer specialized assistance to small business managers
as well as to those interested in starting new businesses. Individual
appointments, approximately 75 minutes in length, will be scheduled between
8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
To register for Pierce County, call the SBDC at 715/425-0620 by Wednesday,
Nov. 17. To register for the Polk County visit, call the SBDC by Wednesday,
Dec. 1.
The sessions are designed for anyone who would like to discuss plans for
starting or expanding a business, or who has problems in any area of business
management.
More than 300 managers of prospective and existing small business firms
have been served in the area since the start of the business advising
program. These represent a wide variety of manufacturing, retailing and
service companies, as well as individuals wishing to start new businesses.
The SBDC also offers a variety of business classes at UW-River Falls.

The Pierce County session is sponsored by PCEO and the Polk County session
is sponsored by the Polk County Extension Office, both in conjunction
with the Small Business Development Center at UW-River Falls.
