This course provides a comprehensive overview of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), including current research for early identification and treatment of ASD. Content will also include addressing meltdowns and challenging behaviors, understanding the function of behavior, communication, interventions, sensory processing, and social skill development. Students must attend the Autism Spectrum Disorders Conference held on campus on February 12. Credit will be granted for a post conference project and/or paper.
